Volkswagen will call its new compact SUV Tiguan. Not only the vehicle, but also the decision on the name is a brave journey into new terrain: the name was chosen by the readers of the AutoBild group. More than 350,000 votes were made from ten countries. The clear winner was Tiguan. The Touareg's little brother is to be produced in Wolfsburg and will be launched in 2008.

Porsche today announced that the new 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S will go on sale in November, 2006. For the first time, the Targa models will be available exclusively with permanent all-wheel drive and a rear body profile that is 44 millimeters (1.73 in.) wider than the standard 911 Carrera®.

New Engine-range for Volkswagen Polo

With immediate effect, Volkswagen is expanding the range of Germany's favourite small car by producing the Polo TDI in three different output versions, each with diesel particulate filter (DPF). Costing 575 euro, the DPF is available for the 1.4 TDI with 51 kW and 59 kW, and for the 1.9 TDI with 74 kW. Volkswagen is thus making even more eco-friendly versions of its successful diesel engines available in the Polo class.

North America is set to receive its first production version of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
