New Porsche SportDesign Package
Monday, 03 April 2006

To add even more flair to what is already one of the sleekest roadsters on the planet, Porsche is offering a new SportDesign body-kit package for the Boxster and Boxster S. The new individualization option is comprised of spoiler lips which mount on the standard front trim, an automatically extending, redesigned rear spoiler, and modified rear trim with integrated diffuser.

In addition to providing a more striking and sportier appearance, the new SportDesign package improves aerodynamics by reducing lift on both the front and rear axles, without increasing aerodynamic drag. This combination of sharper looks and reduced lift complements the Boxster’s finely-tuned, roadster-specific balance, and the shape of the rear trim and integrated diffuser evokes visions of the race-bred Carrera® GT. The automatically extending rear spoiler—which deploys at 75 mph (120 km/h) and retracts at 50 mph (80 km/h)—has been designed along divided-wing principles, and further contributes to the association with Porsche’s supercar. All of the SportDesign package’s components are painted in the vehicle’s exterior color, and blend seamlessly with the Boxster’s dynamic visuals.

Porsche is offering the SportDesign package as a factory installed Exclusive option on the Boxster and Boxster S roadsters for $5,865 USD ($8,200 CAD). It can also be ordered as a Tequipment option through any North American Porsche Dealer and fitted to all 2005-and-later Porsche Boxster models. Pricing of the package through Tequipment is $5,061 USD ($7,591 CAD), but does not include installation. Pricing for Porsche’s 2006 Boxster is $45,000 USD ($64,100 CAD), and $54,700 USD ($77,900 CAD) for the Boxster S.
